NAIT reporting timeframes extended in Otago and Southland

Due to heavy rain and flooding in Otago and Southland, we have extended NAIT reporting timeframes.

Roadside sign for floodingWe have extended the timeframes for updating NAIT to help ease some of the pressure on farmers and other People in Charge of Animals (PICAs) in the following areas:

  • Dunedin
  • North Otago
  • Clutha
  • Southland

This extension remains in place until 18 October 2024.

PICA registration

Register as a PICA by 18 October 2024.

Animal movements

Declare animal movements by 18 October 2024.

Untagged animals

Animals that arrive untagged must be tagged and registered by 18 October 2024.

Where possible, you should check if any NAIT tags have been lost or misplaced.

Dead and missing animals

Declare animal deaths and losses by 18 October 2024.
