Head of Traceability, Kevin Forward, is no stranger to thinking outside the box to improve processes. Now he’s doing the same with NAIT, exploring new and innovative ways to improve compliance as part of an applied business research project for his Executive MBA at Massey.
In his project, Kevin is looking at whether market-led incentives would improve compliance. As he says:
“I’d much rather see a farmer or lifestyler maintain accurate tracing records because it’s the right thing to do, because there is value in it for them, rather than because it’s the law and if you don’t, you fear getting fined or prosecuted.”
To help inform his thinking, Kevin is asking cattle and deer farmers, lifestylers, stock and station agents, meat processors and dairy companies for their views in a short survey. All surveys are anonymous and the results of the research will be made public.
