Find out how you can contribute to the accuracy of the data a biosecurity response team would need if foot-and-mouth disease entered New Zealand.
In the unlikely event of foot-and-mouth disease entering New Zealand, our primary sector and rural communities would be devastated.
We’re working closely with the Ministry for Primary Industries and the primary sector to ensure we are best using available tools and data to support a biosecurity response team in the event of an outbreak.
You can contribute to the accuracy of the data a response team would need by:
- ensuring your contact details in NAIT are correct
- tagging and registering all your NAIT animals
- recording all animal movements within 48 hours
- signing up to MyOSPRI.
It’s critical that your data in NAIT is accurate, as this would help a response team to rapidly track and trace the disease, and possibly eliminate it faster.
