Animal deaths at saleyards
If an animal dies or is put down at your saleyard, your saleyard PICA must record a receiving movement for the animal and then declare it dead in the NAIT system.
Updating NAIT with death information
As a saleyard PICA, you must update NAIT with animal death information. You will need to provide:
- the date of death
- how the animal died
- the disposal method.
Animals dying in transit
If an animal dies in transit, you must first receive the animal onto your NAIT location number, then record the death in NAIT.
Animals dying at your saleyard
If an animal dies at your saleyard, you must first receive the animal onto your NAIT location number, then record the death in NAIT.
