Types of conditions

When we approve your NAIT accreditation, we may place certain conditions on you. These may affect:

  • locations — accreditation may be limited to certain locations, or exclude locations where your business operates
  • scope — some businesses may only provide limited services as information providers, so certain services may be excluded from your accreditation
  • performance — new businesses, or those that have only recently implemented systems and processes, may need follow-up audits to demonstrate that they have embedded these systems.

In some very specific circumstances we may impose other conditions.

What you need to do

If you have conditions that relate to locations or scope of accreditation, you must be very clear with your customers about where and when your accreditation applies. This includes information on your website and in the media. You must not provide services beyond the conditions of your accreditation, otherwise you risk your accreditation being suspended or revoked.

If you have performance conditions, you may have to demonstrate that you have met these conditions through an audit partway through your accreditation period. We’ll outline this in your accreditation letter.

Three-step process if you’re audited as part of conditions

If you need to be audited as part of the conditions on your accreditation, we will follow a three-step process.

We will notify you that an audit/assessment is required. The notification will include:

  • the scope of the audit (what criteria will be assessed)
  • the date you need to complete the audit by.

Contact our approved audit agency to confirm a date for the audit. You will need to pay the audit agency directly for the audit.

Approved audit agency for NAIT accreditation assessments

The audit agency may request information from you, such as copies of documents, information on your worksites, and names of key people at your organisation, to plan the audit.

The audit may be completed onsite at your premises, or virtually, depending on the scope of the audit.

You’ll receive a draft report within 10 working days of the audit. Check this for accuracy and advise the audit agency if they need to make any changes (for example, if job titles or document names are incorrect). You can also provide further information on any changes you have implemented since the audit.

The audit agency will consider your feedback before finalising the report and sending us a copy. We will assess it to determine if you have met the requirements.

We’ll send you a letter stating whether you have met the requirements. If you have, your accreditation continues. If you haven’t, we may suspend or revoke your accreditation.

If you disagree with our decision, email qca_accreditation@ospri.co.nz We will follow our dispute process and the head of traceability will review your case.
