In this guide, we will go through updating animal information in the NAIT system.
Starting on the NAIT home screen, select Manage NAIT activities and choose Animals under View, find and update. To find the animal you wish to update, you can either use search filters, or you can find the animal within the list.
Once you know which animal you wish to update, select the box to the left of the NAIT tag number. Once it turns blue, select Edit selected animals and choose Edit animal details. This will take you to the page of the animal’s details, where you can update any of them that are incorrect. You can provide an other visual tag, update the production type, or add additional details like breed and gender.
Once you’re happy with the information, press Save. The system will show a green box if the update was successful. If you locate the animal in your list, you’ll be able to see that its new details have been applied. After that, you’re good to go.
Please remember — all information that is provided to the NAIT system must be accurate at the time it’s provided, and kept up to date. Thank you for supporting traceability and disease management in New Zealand.
In this guide, we will go through recording a sending movement in the NAIT system.
Starting on the NAIT home screen, select Create movement from the list of options at the top of your screen. You can choose which direction of movement you’d like to make. We’ll select Sending for animals leaving your location. Here, you will need to provide the NAIT number of the location the animals are going to and the date the animals physically moved. You can either type in the NAIT number, search for one or select from a list of NAIT numbers you’ve previously made movements to.
After pressing Continue, you need to provide the NAIT tag numbers of all the animals that are moving. You can either type them in or select from animals registered to your NAIT number. We’ll choose to type them in. Type them into the text box, making sure to separate each tag number with either a comma or by entering it on a new line.
After you press Continue, the system will validate the tags and let you know if there are any issues like unregistered animals or invalid tags. Once you press Create movement, the system will show a green box at the top of the screen if the movement was successful. After that, you’re good to go.
Please remember — all movements, sending and receiving, need to be recorded in the NAIT system within 48 hours of the end of the day the animals physically moved. Thank you for supporting traceability and disease management in New Zealand.
