I lead and support the veterinary epidemiology team at OSPRI, and our role (broadly speaking) is to use science to inform our policy. We conduct studies to evaluate and improve our surveillance programme to find TB, stay current with international research and review and analyse date to shape our programme.
This is my first role at OSPRI. I was previously a Technical Policy Advisor in Biosecurity and before that, I was an epidemiologist with the Public Health Agency of Canada. Our team is involved in so many interesting and important projects, there is never a day where I could feel bored.
One of the highlights for me is how varied my work is. I am surrounded by kind and smart people, so I always feel supported. It’s rewarding to be part of an organisation that is a world-leader on the TB eradication front, and simultaneously works hard to upskill and develop its employees.
