Clifton King

Clifton King joined OSPRI in July 2023 and is our Head of Traceability. Clifton is passionate about biosecurity and the primary sector’s ability to manage and respond to unwanted diseases.

Clifton started his career as a large-animal veterinarian, providing services to dairy, sheep and beef, and deer farmers. He has held several exotic disease investigation and response roles at the Ministry for Primary Industries, with a primary focus on improving New Zealand’s ability to respond effectively to outbreaks of diseases such as foot-and-mouth.

Before joining OSPRI, Clifton managed the Management Agency for the National American Foulbrood Pest Management Plan.

Based in Wellington, Clifton enjoys mountain biking, tennis, and flying remote-control gliders.
