The PICA for each meat processing plant that deals with NAIT animals is required to register as a PICA Meat Processor in the NAIT system and get a NAIT number for each premises.

The PICA is responsible for:

• Providing and maintaining the PICA contact details
• Providing and maintaining NAIT number details for each plant
• Providing slaughter information for each NAIT animal processed
• Providing movement information for each animal processed

The PICA can allow others to have access to their NAIT account and perform NAIT actions on their behalf by assigning them as delegates. The ultimate responsibility to ensure all NAIT activities are recorded remains with the PICA Meat Processor.
