Any cattle or deer that are born on your farm must be identified with a NAIT approved RFID tag and registered in the NAIT system before they are moved off your farm.

Once you have tagged your animals it is important to register them in the NAIT system. This lets us know which of your purchased tags you have used on animals.
It is important to note that when tags are purchased, the individual tag numbers are loaded into the system against your NAIT number however we rely on the registration process to tell us that they have been used on an animal and are not just sitting in the shed unused.
You can register your animals directly in the NAIT system, click here to find out how. You can also use an information provider to register your animals for you, click here for more information on using an information provider.
It is important to keep the details on your NAIT account up to date, this includes your animals' registration details. For example, if an animal's production type changes, you must update this in the NAIT system. You can update your registered animals at any time, click here to find out how to do this in the NAIT system.
If you have fallow and trophy deer on your farm, you are exempt from having to tag these animals with a NAIT tag, however you are required to record how many of these animals you have on farm. This tally must be updated annually. Click here to find out how to update this tally in your NAIT account.
