Improving our technology over the next three years

Date 15 December 2020

We’re starting work to upgrade our digital services to help meet the growing needs of you, our farmers.

Next year, we’re going to be working on changes to replace our current NAIT system with a new OSPRI Portal. The OSPRI Portal will be an improved, customer-focussed solution that will become our single system for animal and disease management.

We expect the changes to take just under three years to complete. With first round changes in 2021 meaning, you’ll be able to complete an Animal Status Declaration (ASD) through the portal and by the end of 2022, all of our traceability and disease management functionalities will be managed through the portal. Making it easier to manage your animal movements.

We’ll be turning off our existing systems through a staged approach, and we’ll make sure you know about any changes with plenty of time.

We’re going to be working closely with you and industry representatives to test our new systems so that they’re fit for purpose and are easy to use.  If you’d like to learn more about the system changes, or to be part of the testing please get in touch with the team at
