First H&S Awards recognise leading Contractors

OSPRI’s inaugural Health and Safety Conference in Wellington this week celebrated the leadership of several wildlife contractors.

At an awards ceremony hosted by COO Matthew Hall, winners received solid trophies from director Fenton Wilson in three categories Leadership, Guardianship and Innovation.

As judged by a panel of programme leaders and executives, the winners were:
HS Trophy

  • Rob Brenstrum, Central Districts Pest Control, for demonstrating visible and proactive leadership in health, safety and wellbeing.
  • Barry Polson, Vector Free Marlborough, for protecting the health, safety and wellbeing of himself and others.
  • Ivor Yockney, Manaaki Whenua Landcare Research, for a novel approach to the application of health and safety effectiveness.

Finalists included Epro (3), Vector Control Services, Central Districts Pest Control and Eco FX.
